Common and Rare Injuries of the Hip Joint and Treatment Options
The hip joint can withstand repeated motion and a large amount of wear and tear. Hip pain is a common symptom that can be described as aching, sharp or burning, and can range in intensity from mild to severe. There are many possible causes of hip pain ranging from serious sources such as fracture or infection, to causes that are less serious although still potentially debilitating such as arthritis and bursitis.
Causes of Hip Pain
Pains in the hip can stem from a number of problems related to the muscular-skeletal structure. The source of pain can be the result of a slipped disc, the neuropathic result from nerve pressure (such as the sciatic nerve), the result of chronic injury or trauma to the hip joint, or the result of overstretching or tearing of the hip ligaments, tendons or muscles.
Bursitis
Bursae are sacs of fluid found between tissues such as bone muscles and tendons. They reduce the friction caused by these tissues rubbing together. When bursae become inflamed, they may cause pain. Inflammation of bursae is usually due to repetitive activities that overwork or irritate the hip joint.
Hip Fractures
With age, the bones may become weak and brittle, therefore more likely to break during a fall.
Other common injuries include dislocation, hip labral tear, Inguinal Hernia, sprains, and tendonitis.
Arthritis
Arthritis, Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis – are among the most common causes of hip pain, especially in older adults. Arthritis leads to inflammation of the hip joint and the breakdown of the cartilage that allows the smooth operation of the joint. The pain increases over time. People with arthritis also experience a reduced range of motion in the hip.
Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Septic Arthritis, referred Pain
Sciatica
The sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in the body and it leads the nerve roots from the L4 – L5 vertebrae downward through the pelvis and the buttocks to the hip and down through the back of the leg to the foot. Pressure on the nerve or the nerve roots attached to it, whether from a structural problem (i.e. Osteoarthritis, slipped disc) or from an injury (i.e. muscle spasm, back injury), causes pain that radiates along the nerve. In many cases, the pain is felt in the area of the buttocks and is radiated toward the side and the rear of the hip.
Using B-Cure Laser for treatment of pain in the hip is successful in many cases, bringing significant relief for chronic pain and in treating the actual inflammation.
B-Cure is effective for treatment of pain. The device helps treat inflammation, reduces pain and swelling.
B-Cure Laser provides breakthrough laser therapy, offering the power of some professional lasers as used in clinics, in a lightweight portable device that may be used from the comfort of home.
The treatment is safe, effective and may provide lasting pain relief.
B-Cure Laser’s restorative power is provided by advanced laser technology.
B-Cure Laser should be placed in contact with the skin allowing the photon energy to penetrate the tissues. This stimulates the body to produce adenosine triphosphate otherwise known as ATP, which carries energy within the cells. The ATP interacts with various biomolecules inside the cells promoting normal cell function and enhancing the body’s natural processes.
Patients recover from muscular, skeletal, and nerve injuries as cells regenerate faster and function better.
Research has proved that using the B-Cure Laser for painful Hip conditions provides cells with more energy to perform their functions.
Therapeutic effects of LLLT (laser phototherapy) include:
- Increased production of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate)
- Increased cellular metabolism
- Increased collagen production
- Increased enzyme production
- Increased protein synthesis
- Improved blood circulation
- Improved lymphatic flow and drainage
- Reduced inflammation
All this serves to boost the body’s natural healing power, targeting the root causes of pain and providing rapid relief.
B-Cure Laser is unique due to it’s beam that covers a surface of 4.5 cm, making it possible to treat a wide range of painful conditions easily, effectively and quickly. B-Cure Laser is safe for all ages, and does not require protective eyewear during use.
What Are the Benefits of B-Cure Laser?
- May reduce chronic pain
- Non-invasive and non-surgical treatment
- Suitable for all ages
- No known side effects
- Clinically proven by many studies
- Easy and safe for home use
Treatment Protocol
Place the device on the painful vertebrae along the spine for a duration of 8 minutes.
For treatment of the sciatic nerve, as a result of a bulging or herniated disc, place the device on vertebrae L4 and L5, even if you do not feel any pain at these points. Usually, these vertebrae constitute the source of the problem. Treat each point for a duration of 8 minutes.
Treatment is to be applied for 8 minutes along the length of the hip joint and then for 8 minutes to the width of the hip joint. The connecting points between the hip and the knee can also be treated. In cases of injury or trauma, treatment should begin as soon as possible following the injury, applying for 6-8 minutes on each point of treatment, twice a day. In cases of chronic pain, begin with a dose of 1.5 minutes for each point of treatment and gradually increase the dose for 30 more seconds each day, until reaching a treatment time of 6-8 minutes for each point of treatment, twice a day.
To make treatment more convenient, the adjustable stand may be used. Stabilize the device and the stand and treat without moving so that the laser beam penetrates deep into the tissues.
For optimal results, repeat the treatment at least twice a day.
